I haven't been able to join one of the book clubs yet, but I'm hoping to come to the next NYC one! Just have to say it's so great to see how this has grown, especially as someone who has followed you for years. Congratulations!!

I love an unreliable narrator! Like Humbert Humbert in Lolita or the governess in The Turn of the Screw. I think it is a real test of a writer's skill, and Murdoch does it so well. Also led to lots of laugh out loud moments! Charles is annoying and deluded, but that's kind of the point.

I wasn’t able to join in person but really enjoyed reading this while on holiday by the sea (!) This was also my first Iris Murdoch book and now I’m excited to read more of hers.

Finally I get to feel like I can join in! Fab! I’ve been following along with a lot of the books and love the choices but feel flat after reading as miss

other people’s views which is the point . X

The bistro night looked great, I kind of need those cool metal candlesticks haha. Exciting news about Edinburgh, we'll definitely try to make it there!

What an excellent creation Charles Arrowby! I couldn’t help liking him and his delusions. Oh and food descriptions of course!
